A fresh and vibrant dimension to the parish’s music.
The SSA Choir — sopranos and altos — sings at Evensong twice a month and at a number of special services across the year.
A more recent expansion of the parish’s choral foundation, the SSA Choir was formed to broaden both the repertoire and the breadth of voices that lead worship at St George’s. The choir specialises in music written for upper voices and brings particular warmth to the office of Evensong.
Members are drawn from the parish, the wider city, and the university music scene. Auditions are by friendly arrangement, and new singers are welcomed throughout the year.
